The zoning committee's third Wednesday meeting schedule was, it turns out, altered in the same month that Mr. Bettencourt first ordered those unusual paving stones. I don't wish to jump to conclusions, but one does begin to see a procedural rhythm. Mr. Higgins concurs; she has taken a particular interest in the file tabulation. I must also note that the squirrels in the maple have been conducting what I can only describe as a silent inventory of the perimeter since dawn. The cat is observing from the bay window with what I recognize as her professional demeanor. Perhaps a quiet word with the town clerk's office is in order. Over tea, naturally.
