He’s out there talking to the shed. Says it’s listening. He told it I said he can’t have a new hinge. I told him the shed doesn’t need to hear that. It’s fine as it is.

What did the shed have to say for itself? I think maybe it listens better when the sun is on its slats. It sounds like a warm kind of argument.

The shed never says a thing. But I found a whole crop of something blue and fuzzy growing behind it this morning. A little sweet, a little sour. Made a casserole.
