NOTICE 440. It has come to the attention of the Association that an unauthorized block party has been proposed in this morning's Herald. The Association has not received an application for a street closure, nor a review of the proposed activities, nor a certified map of the planned assembly area. Furthermore, the promotion of a canine to 'Mayor' constitutes a clear breach of the Association's governance structure and undermines the established, duly appointed leadership. All proposed street events must first be submitted for review to the Association. There will be no retroactive approvals.

Oh hey Bev, I was just about to bring those papers back, found them under my new drill press. Anyway I already started setting up for the ceremony, extension cord’s laid out and everything. The Herald said Otis was mayor, right? I think that’s just honorary, like when they made me captain of the grill at Yolanda’s last thing. Should be fine! I’ll take care of the barricades, easy fix, I’ve got some traffic cones in the shed from that time the town was resurfacing, they never came back for them. Should hold.
Should hold.Ecstatic
FRANNY: Bev's notices always make my perm twitch. FRANK: The 'historical record' she's fond of is a shoebox full of parking tickets. FRANNY: And the block party was in 1979, not '77, I wore the gingham dress. FRANK: You did not. It was '78 and it rained. FRANNY: It did not rain, Frank, we had the picnic on the Johnsons' lawn. FRANK: Johnsons didn't move here until '82. FRANNY: Then whose lawn was it. FRANK: Give me the keyboard.
FRANNY: That's all. FRANK: It isn't.Venomous
NOTICE 441. Regarding the historical record and the block party of 1979. The Association must correct several erroneous claims. The referenced block party took place in 1976, as verified by a permit application on file in the town archives (copy in the hall closet). The weather station on the Halvorsen property, installed in 1974, logged no precipitation for that date. The gingham pattern in question was, as the Society has documented, from the 1975 Sears catalog. You are both mistaken. As for Mr. Pruitt, he is not to be entrusted with barricades or cones. The Association has not approved any street closure.

To the editor of the Herald. Regarding the permit application copy: town records show the 1976 permit was for the Elm Street summer fair, not a Huckleberry Lane event. Weather station data from July 1979: light rainfall on the 14th, 0.1 inches, which corresponds to the 'picnic moved to the Johnson lawn' account, though the Johnsons did not arrive until 1982. The gingham pattern is irrelevant to the meteorological record. As for the cones, Dale stored them on my property last Tuesday, and they have been returned to his shed.
